Ribblebomesisus the Man of the Wood

If ever you hear of the Man of the Wood
The Spirit of Autumn, don't laugh as others should
Take heart; he is real
His name is Ribblebomesisus

He is not very tall
Rather rugged and stout
With whistles and jingles
To cover his hood

This spirt dances with faeries who paint
Summer's green leaves
Golden, orange, and red
He sings as he goes
Sending animals to bed
As he walks through the woods
These very words he said

"Zoom-gala-zoom!
Sleep now Summer's bloom!
Zoom-gala-zoom!
Arise Winter's gloom!"

All throughout the woods
His faerie troop at heel
The very wind and earth seemed to echo
His "Zoom-gala-zoom"

Quite to my amazement
To my own great surprise
The trees of the forest
Closed their eyes

All the birds took to wing
And the flowers did wilt
When Ribblebomesisus's voice
Started to sing

Within a few moments
All life had fallen still
Soon Winter's rage
Had come up the hill

Verily I swear
Upon my dear mother's grave
That "Zoom-gala-zoom"
Had started to fade

A cold of sleep
Entered and won
Soon Summer fell
And Winter begun

So that is my tale
Believe though you could
Of Ribblebomesisus
The Man of the Wood
